The Boone Area Chamber of Commerce presented Scott Porter and The Carefree Companies with its 2007 Business of the Year Award yesterday.
Porter’s company established the first architecturally integrated subdivision in Boone at Hampton Estates. The Carefree Companies and employees frequently work with Habitat for Humanity Re-Store, the High Country United Way, Valle Crucis School, and sponsor various Watauga Parks and Rec sports teams. The award was presented to The Carefree Companies at last night’s Chamber After Hours.
