Boone police are still trying to find out what happened early yesterday morning at the Kangaroo Express.
At approximately 4:40 a.m., Boone police officers responded to the service station on West King Street in reference to a possible assault. Three customers had entered the store and did not see the clerk. According to Captain William Greene, the clerk was found outside the building near the dumpster, her clothes in disarray and very disoriented. The last thing she could remember was mopping the floor.
The clerk was treated and released from Watauga Medical Center. In the meantime, Boone police are struggling to assess what happened. There was no sign of a robbery.
Today, Boone police have still not figured out exactly what went on at the Kangaroo Express, and are urging anyone with any information to come forward. Call Boone police at 828-262-4500.
