Breaking news from Ashe County- deputies have arrested 27-year-old Joseph Gilley in connection with a breaking and entering and larceny.

Last night, a burglar alarm alerted deputies to Nathan’s Creek General Store. Someone broke in through a window with a crowbar and stole over $1,000 worth of cash and checks. Later that night Gilley was pulled over during a routine traffic stop, and the money was recovered. An unidentified white female was with Gilley in the vehicle, and her arrest may be pending according to Detective Robert Powers. Gilley is being held on a $15,000 bond.
