A larceny reported on March 23 at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church that resulted in the theft of a $2,700 sound compressor may be related to a microphone theft at Boone United Methodist Church, according to Boone Detective David Osborne.
Sometime between February 3 and March 1, 14 microphones valued at $2,250 disappeared from the Methodist Church. Meanwhile, between March 18 and March 22, the compressor vanished from the Methodist Church.
To further complicate things, additional thefts at other churches in Watauga are being investigated by Watauga County Sheriff’s Office.
Police have no leads.
