The Avery County Sheriff’s Office received information that led to the recovery of an ATV in Carter County, Tennessee.
The ATV was stolen from Mitchell County a month ago. Avery deputies also recovered a Kubota Farm Tractor that had been stolen off N.C. Highway 105 near Boone several months ago. The tractor was found in Mitchell County.
Sheriff Kevin Frye is not sure if the incidents are related, but both tips came out of investigations in the Old Beech Mountain Community.
A rash of break-ins in the Old Beech Mountain Community from January to March has had deputies in the Old Beech Mountain Community on extra alert.
According to Frye, that's a good thing because it leads to unrelated tips like these. No arrests have been made in connection with the recovery of the ATV and tractor. Frye said issuing charges is up to the counties involved.
