A team of students from Appalachian State University has received the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's P3 award, for the second consecutive year.
Part of the National Sustainable Design Expo held each year on the National Mall in Washington D.C., the P3 program (People, Prosperity and the Planet) is a national competition that enables college students to research, develop and design scientific, technical and policy solutions to sustainability challenges. The award includes $75,000 to move the students' designs to the marketplace. Appalachian's Affordable Bioshelters Project team will use the award for continued research and development of its greenhouse technologies.
