Also in Avery County, a traffic stop in Newland resulted in drug possession charges.
28-year-old Janet Blevins and 40-year-old Kevin Moody from Mountain City and Watauga County respectively, were charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of a schedule four controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Newland Police Department and Avery County Sheriff's Office cooperated in the arrests.The ongoing investigation has been turned over to the Avery County/Municipal Drug Task Force.
