Ashe
County Free Medical Clinic is one of 69 free clinics taking part in a Statewide
Open House sponsored by the North Carolina Association of Free Clinics
(NCAFC)
in partnership with the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina
Foundation. The event is an effort to educate the community about free clinics.
The
doors will stay open late on Tuesday, April 24 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. to give
community members, civic leaders and government officials the chance to tour
the facility, ask questions and learn more about the critical health care needs
being met by North Carolina’s free clinics.The Ashe County Free Medical Clinic is
the first free clinic in Northwest North Carolina. To learn more about the clinic, call 846-4649 or go online acfmc.

about.The North Carolina Association of Free Clinics, founded in 1998, is a
private,
nonprofit, headquartered in Winston-Salem. The Association received its largest
grant to date for $10 million from the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North
Carolina Foundation, in order to expand and strengthen the free health clinic
network across the state.
