A new arrival hopes to join northern Caldwell County's residential building boom. A Lenoir-based partnership is planning River Ridge.
The 163-acre, 53-lot gated community will be in the Globe area, about three and a half miles south of downtown Blowing Rock. River Ridge is the eighth 100-plus acre residential development officially proposed in northern Caldwell in the past two years. Currently vacant and used for hunting, the property is surrounded on three sides by Pisgah National Forest. Developers aim to maintain the natural feel.
