Lenoir-Rhyne's Kevin Baxter saw his season come to an end at the 2013 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field National Championships Friday evening at the Neta & Eddie DeRose ThunderBowl. Baxter, a redshirt freshman from Columbia, S.C., failed to reach the finals in the men's 110-meter hurdles after false starting in the preliminaries. Baxter entered the national championship meet ranked ninth in NCAA Division II with a school-record time of 14.05 seconds.
Baxter became the first male athlete in school history to earn All-American honors in indoor track and field after finishing sixth in the finals of the men's 60-meter hurdles at the 2013 D-II Indoor National Championships in Birmingham, Ala., in early March. Baxter also holds the L-R record in the event at 7.97 seconds.
