It's been an emotional season to say the least for Watauga High girl's lacrosse coach Holly Quick. She took over as head coach when her sister, Leigh Wallace, passed away unexpectedly last December. And despite some trying moments, Quick guided her team the best she could. And in the end, Quick was justifiably rewarded.
Quick was named the Conference 7 Coach of the Year last week. And the Pioneers (3-7) also had two players named to the All-Conference 7 team. Senior Taelor Critcher was sophomore Gabby Moody were named second-team selections.
Critcher led WHS with 31 goals (she averaged three goals a game) and five assists; Moody led WHS with six interceptions and six take-aways. Moody was also third on the team with 13 ground balls and 5 draw wins.
