Madison Bumgarner of the San Francisco Giants has quietly put together some impressive numbers. And during his short tenure (five years)  in the Major Leagues, the left hander from South Caldwell High, has also won two

World Series titles. Now, Bumgarner finds himself nestled in impressive company as one of the top five winningest pitchers in the National League.
Dating back to 2011, Bumgarner has won 33 games, placing him in fifth place as one of the top pitchers in the NL. Clayton Kershaw of the Los Angeles Dodgers leads that list with 39 wins during that stretch. Ian Kennedy of the Arizona Diamondbacks, who defeated the Atlanta Braves on Wednesday afternoon, is in second place with 38 wins. Yovani Gallardeo of the Milwaukee Brewers is in third place with 37 wins; Tim Hudson of the Braves, who suffered the loss on Wednesday against Arizona, is in fourth place with 36 wins.
Bumgarner is currently 4-1 with a 2.18 earned-run-average in eight appearances (all starts) this season. Bumgarner, who leads the Giants in wins, innings pitched, and strikeouts, has given up 13 earned runs in 53.2 innings with 54 strikeouts.
Bumgarner is scheduled to make his next start Friday night in Denver, CO., against the Colorado Rockies. The Giants (23-17) lead Arizona by 1/2 game for first place in the NL West.
