Williams Named Player Of Year PDF Print

Watuaga High senior Nick Williams closed out his stellar career with style.

Williams, who finished his career with 104 goals, was named the North Carolina High School Athletic Association Conference 9 Player of the Year. He scored 67 goals this season and led the Pioneers to a district title and the state playoffs.
Williams was also second in the state with his 67 tallies. Chris Wallace of the Pioneers was named the Conference 9 Coach of the Year.
In all, the Pioneers had five players named to the All-Conference 9 team. Joining Williams on that squad were Dominick Hamilton, Canyon Meuller, Andrew Marks and Brandon Michelson.

The Pioneers (6-5) won the Conference 9 regular-season championship with a perfect 6-0 record. They also made the state playoffs for the first time in program history. WHS lost to Pfafftown-Reagan in the first round.

Conference Player of the Year: Nick Williams from Watauga High School.
Nick finished the year with 67 goals. (2nd in the State with Goals)

Conference Coach of the Year: Chris Wallace from Watauga High School.
Coach Wallace is in his 4th year of coaching the Pioneers. He led the Pioneers to a 6-5 record in 2013 and was
undefeated in conference play and led them to the NCHSAA State Playoffs.
