Watauga Man Run Over in Ashe Accident PDF Print

A Vilas man was injured early Friday morning working on an Ashe County property, run over by the wheels of a trailer containing work equipment and materials for a job he was working in the Three Tops area.  The Ashe Sheriff’s Office said that the driver of the truck pulling the trailer accidentally turned off the ignition before putting the truck in park, causing it to lose brakes and impair the steering.  While workers scrambled to try to stop the truck or get out of its way, 45-year old Miguel Rodriguez had his legs run over by the wheels of the trailer.  The Vilas man was rushed from the Elk Creek Parkway area to Watauga Medical Center by EMS from Ashe, and was being treated there late Friday.  No charges were filed in the accident.
