Flooding Possible Sunday with Slow System PDF Print

The National Weather Service Friday issued a briefing to emergency management in a wide area of western North Carolina, much of eastern Tennessee, western Virginia and West Virginia, warning of the potential for flooding.  A double low pressure system is moving slowly toward the area, the slow pace causing as much concern as other factors as rain totals could hit 6 inches or more for the storm, with 4 inches of that coming from Sunday night into Monday. Flood watches are up for the area, and emergency services notified to be prepared for what may come.
The system is the same that brought record May snows from the Midwest to the central states, and even was a factor in wind-driven fires in the far southwest. High Country Radio and GoBlueRidge.net have made plans for reporting on any road issues, flooding, slides and the like, and if you see any conditions we need to report on, call 828-414-1027.  Any pictures would also be appreciated.
