Gilmore Leads Bears At Highlander Invitational PDF Print

Several members of the Lenoir-Rhyne University Men's Track and Field Team competed at the Highlander Invitational this past Saturday at Patrick D. Cupp Memorial Stadium on the campus of Radford University. L-R senior Artis Gilmore (Asheville, N.C.) won the men's triple jump (46'9") while redshirt freshman Kevin Baxter (Columbia, S.C.) placed second in the men's 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.40 seconds. Baxter has already qualified as a provisional to the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field National Championships which take place on May 23-25 in Pueblo, Colo.
Finally, sophomore Jarrod Spears (Bunnlevel, N.C.) placed eighth in the men's 100-meter dash (10.98 seconds) and freshman C.J. Cody (Powder Springs, Ga.) was seventh in the men's 400-meter hurdles (57.94 seconds).
Several members of the Lenoir-Rhyne Men's and Women's Track and Field Teams will next compete in the Duke Twilight on Sunday, May 5, in Durham, N.C.
