The fourth-ranked Rollins Women's Lacrosse Team (14-1) held off a late rally to beat Lenoir-Rhyne (7-7), 15-9, Sunday afternoon at Moretz Stadium. The Tars' Caroline Lamere (Longwood, Fla.) finished with a match-high six goals and three assists as Rollins won its eighth straight contest. Senior Hayley Beaty (Dallas, N.C.) led the Bears with three goals on the afternoon in the losing effort. Trailing by a 14-3 score midway through the second half, Lenoir-Rhyne reeled off six straight goals but the deficit was too great to overcome. Erica Pagliarulo (Winchester, Mass.) added three goals and Mo Imel (Ellicott City, Md.) dished out five assists for Rollins, who beat Lenoir-Rhyne for the second time this year.
L-R senior Sarah Minick (Marietta, Ga.) and sophomore Mary Minick (Marietta, Ga.) each scored twice as well but the Bears could not recover from a 10-1 deficit to start the match. Rollins held the advantage on Lenoir-Rhyne in both shots taken (31-19) and ground balls (30-28) while Elyse De Lisle (Windermere, Fla.) earned the win in goal. De Lisle allowed just three goals while stopping four shots in close to 45 minutes of action.
For Lenoir-Rhyne, sophomore Lauren Donovan (Hollywood, Md.) added three assists but sophomore goalkeeper Allison Senft (Marietta, Ga.) suffered the loss. Senft finished with six saves on the day. Lenoir-Rhyne hosts Limestone on Thursday beginning at 7:00 p.m., at Moretz Stadium.
