Another Letter Pending in old WHS Dispute PDF Print

It appears that another letter was in the works Friday in the matter of Watauga County verses the Town of Boone over the housing standards that would kill the sale of the $19 million old Watauga High property. With the due diligence period on that sale set to end early in the week, the county wrote the town, taking them up on one of the meeting dates to work on their differences--Tuesday at 5:30--but Friday, Mayor Loretta Clawson said, while at the Boone Business Expo at Boone Mall, that the Town Council, at the end of their executive session Thursday night, directed town manager Greg Young to again write the county, explaining that, with a lawsuit pending from the county, an open session was not an option for the  town, and a closed mediation session is what the town would accept.  As of late Friday, that letter had not been circulated to the press.
