L-R Remains In Fourth At SAC Championships PDF Print

The Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Golf Team remained in fourth place after the second day of the 2013 Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Golf Championships Monday at the Sevierville Golf Club. The Bears shot a 611 (+35) on the par-72, 7,054-yard River Course while Lincoln Memorial leads with an even-par 576. The Railsplitters' Connor Froning is the top individual in the men's tournament with a 136 (-8) while junior John White (Dudley Shoals, N.C.) continues to be the Bears' top golfer after 36 holes.
White is tied for sixth overall with a 147 (+3) while Lenoir-Rhyne junior Brandon Squier (Advance, N.C.) is 13th with a 151 (+7).
On the women's side, Newberry leads after the second round of play with a 637 (+61) on the par-72, 5,817-yard Highlands course.
In addition, Newberry's Eline Askeland and Lincoln Memorial's Whitney Ball are currently tied for first with a 153 (+9) in the women's tournament. Lenoir-Rhyne has three women's golfers in the tournament and is led by senior Megan Katsch (Wilmington, N.C.). Katsch is tied for 27th with a 175 (+31) while freshman Elizabeth Ewing (Greensboro, N.C.) finished with a 177 (+33) and is tied for 29th overall.
The third and final round takes place on Tuesday.
