Bears Tied For Fourth At SAC Championship PDF Print

The Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Golf Team is tied for fourth after the first day of the 2013 Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Championship Sunday at the Sevierville Golf Club. The Bears carded a 309 (+21) on the par-72, 7,054-yard River Course while Lincoln Memorial leads with a one-under 287. The Railsplitters also have the top men's golfer overall in Connor Froning after the first round.
Froning shot an eight-under 64, tying the conference record, while the Bears are led by junior John White (Dudley Shoals, N.C.). White stands in fourth place with an even-par 72 while Lenoir-Rhyne junior Brandon Squier (Advance, N.C.) is tied for 10th with a 75 (+3) as well after 18 holes of play.
On the women's side, Tusculum leads after finishing the first round with a 315 (+27) on the par-72, 5,817-yard Highlands Course and the Pioneers' Jillian Corum sits in first place with a 74 (+2).
The Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Golf Team has three golfers in the tournament and is led by freshman Elizabeth Ewing (Greensboro, N.C.). Ewing is tied for 22nd with an 87 (+15) while senior Megan Katsch (Wilmington, N.C.) carded a 92 (+20) to tie for 32nd overall.
The second of three rounds will take place on Monday.
