The Winston-Salem State Baseball Team (23-8) defeated Lenoir-Rhyne (13-22), 9-3, Tuesday night in non-conference action at BB&T Ballpark. The Rams' German Reyes (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic)

finished with three hits including a pair of doubles and two runs batted in as Winston-Salem State defeated Lenoir-Rhyne for the second time this season.
L-R senior first baseman Colton Hansley (Asheville, N.C.) and junior outfielder Brandon Walker (Otisville, N.Y.) each drove in a run in the first inning as the Bears jumped out to a 3-0 lead but the Rams responded by scoring the final nine runs of the contest.
The Rams took the lead for good thanks to a four-run third inning highlighted by Tyler Hickernell's (Thomasville, N.C.) walk with the bases loaded which proved to be the game-winning RBI.
Aaron Jones (Kernersville, N.C.) and Conner Andrus (Winston-Salem, N.C.) also drove in two runs each for the Rams, who won their third straight contest. Hickernell (4-4) pitched into the eighth inning and picked up the win for Winston-Salem State. Hickernell allowed just two earned runs while striking out six batters as well.
Sophomore Dustin Bare (Hays, N.C.) took the loss on the mound and fell to 0-2 for the Bears, who were also limited to just five hits on the night in the setback. Lenoir-Rhyne hosts Montreat at Bears Field on Wednesday afternoon beginning at 4:00 p.m. Winston-Salem State, meanwhile, plays Mars Hill on the road Thursday at 3:00 p.m.

NOTES: The Lenoir-Rhyne Baseball Team has moved its scheduled road game with Montreat on Wednesday to home. First pitch at Bears Field is set for 4:00 p.m.
