A woman was rushed on an emergency transfer to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center last night after a crash with a Town of Boone snow plow on Blowing Rock Road, a crash that closed Blowing Rock Road for the rest of the evening. Boone Police say one person was pinned in the wreckage
of the SUV involved in the 7:30pm crash near the Meadowview Drive intersection, the wreck involving the white Mercury Mountaineer and the town truck being used as a road scraper. Boone Fire and Police were called along with Watauga Medics as one person was pinned in, and a second ambulance responded to deal with another person suffered an arm injury. First arriving emergency crews dealt with the more serious injury, said to involve impairment to the airway, which Boone officers on the scene were desperately trying to keep open as medics were en route. The State Patrol is investigating as a Town of Boone vehicle was involved, and that report is not yet available.
