Snowy weather and icy roads causing travel problems, as caution is being urged across the mountains for anyone traveling.  One wreck just before 8 this morning was on Three Mile Highway in Avery—NC 194—and involved a silver SUV skidding off the highway, landing in a cow pasture. Arriving first responders were told by the driver that he was OK, with medics and most first responders cancelling their response. Boone Fire and Watauga Medics responded to a single-vehicle crash on Little Laurel, a Jeep skidding off the road into a tree.  The driver refused medical treatment, according to Boone Fire at the scene.  And a BREMCO propane truck slid onto its side and wrecked on Oak Ridge Drive off Aho Road near the Blue Ridge Parkway.  No injuries were reported in the 10:15am wreck, but Blowing Rock Fire responded in case of trouble resetting the truck.
