Harrison Battle and Landon Taylor came close at No.1 doubles, dropping an 8-5 decision to Michael McGowan and Nicholas Cotrill of the Panthers. Moomaw and Will spinetto lost 8-4 at No.3 doubles to Turner Hills and Michael Stewart. Now today's scheduled match with Hickory will be played on Friday; Middle Creek from Apex, N.C., comes to town Saturday.

WHS GOLF FINISHES SECOND AT CEDAR ROCK
The Watuaga High boy's golf team fired a team score of 168 and finished in second place, 13 shots behind Hibriten on Tuesday in a non-conference match at the Cedar Rock Country Club in Lenoir, N.C. The Panthers bested the field with a 155; South Caldwell finished third with a team score of 175 in the four-team meet. Tyler Johnson and Colton Tucker of the Panthers shared medalist honors as they both fired a even par 36. Austin Northern paced the Pioneers as he finished three shots back with a three-over par 39. Carson Nguyen and Trevor Eggers were six shots back with a six over par 42; Seth Greene had a 45. The Pioneers travel to Taylorsville, N.C., for a non-conference match at the Brushy Mountain Golf Course. Alexander Central will be the host school.
