 The Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Tennis Team (0-5, 0-4) fell to Lincoln Memorial (4-1, 3-0), 6-3, Sunday afternoon in a South Atlantic Conference match at Hickory High School.
L-R sophomore John Christian Reid (Claremont, N.C.) won at both fifth singles and third doubles for the Bears despite the loss. Reid defeated Lincoln Memorial's Gabriel Martins (Aracaju, Brazil), 6-3 and 6-2, in singles and combined with senior David Richardson (Wake Forest, N.C.) to prevail at third doubles. L-R senior Kilian Symalla (Wolfsburg, Germany) defeated Will Sparks (Knoxville, Tenn.) of Lincoln Memorial by scores of 6-1 and 6-0 at No. 2 singles as well. Lenoir-Rhyne faces Newberry in a league match on Monday on the road in Newberry, S.C., beginning at 2:00 p.m. Lincoln Memorial plays at Alabama-Huntsville on Wednesday at 3:00 p.m., in its next match.

Lincoln Memorial Women's Tennis Gets By Lenoir-Rhyne, 5-4
The Lincoln Memorial Women's Tennis Team (3-1, 2-1) held on to defeat Lenoir-Rhyne (0-5, 0-4), 5-4, Sunday afternoon at Hickory High School in a South Atlantic Conference contest. L-R sophomore Maggie Brown (Cranford, N.J.) prevailed in both singles and doubles action for the second consecutive match. Brown downed Summer Robinson (Mosheim, Tenn.) at No. 5 singles by scores of 3-6, 6-2 and 10-7 and was matched with junior Lacey Lapp (Maitland, Fla.) to win at third doubles. L-R senior Ivey Tant (Lansing, N.C.) also won her second straight match, defeating Lincoln Memorial's Alexandra Granger (Repentigny, Quebec, Canada), 6-3 and 6-1, at second singles and freshman Amanda Bryan (Taylorsville, N.C.) earned her second victory of the year. Lenoir-Rhyne plays its third match in three days on Monday against Newberry in Newberry, S.C., on Monday afternoon beginning at 2:00 p.m. Lincoln Memorial, meanwhile, faces Alabama-Huntsville on the road on Wednesday. Match time is set for 3:00 p.m.
