Bears Finish Third At Rendleman Golf Invitational PDF Print

The Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Golf Team carded a 592 (+24) to finish third out of 17 schools at the Richard Rendleman Invitational which concluded Tuesday at the Country Club of Salisbury.


Belmont Abbey shot a 583 (+15) on the par-71, 6,665-yard course to win the tournament while the Crusaders' Adam Hodges was the top player. Hodges finished with a one-under 141 while sophomore Drew Alford (Statesville, N.C.) was the Bears' No. 1 golfer. Alford tied for fourth with a 144 (+2) overall.
In addition, junior Brandon Squier (Advance, N.C.) tied for eighth with a 146 (+4) while junior John White (Dudley Shoals, N.C.) shot a 149 (+7) to finish in a 24th-place tie.
The Lenoir-Rhyne University Men's Golf Team returns to action on March 25 and 26 when the Bears compete in the J. Ralph Hargett Memorial Intercollegiate in Mint Hill, N.C.

L-R Women Complete Play At Pirate Invitational

 

The Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Golf Team finished play Tuesday at the Pirate Invitational, hosted by Armstrong Atlantic State, at the Savannah Quarters Country Club.
Armstrong Atlantic State won the tournament after shooting a 607 (+31) on the par-72, 5,914-yard course.
Lander's T. Caballer Hernani was the top individual after carding a 145 (+1).
L-R's top golfer for the tournament was senior Megan Katsch (Wilmington, N.C.). Katsch tied for 41st overall with a 171 (+27).
Meanwhile, freshman Elizabeth Ewing (Greensboro, N.C.) tied 52nd with a 177 (+33) and freshman Temple Cook (Morganton, N.C.) tied for 72nd (222, +78).
The Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Golf Team will next compete in the Hilton Head Invitational on Hilton Head, S.C., on March 18 and 19.
