Two women have been charged in separate investigations by the Avery Sheriff’s Office involving methamphetamines. Friday, officers with the Avery County Sheriff Office and the Beech Mountain Police Department arrested thirty-six year old Jacquelyn Robin Boone of Elizabethton, Tn. after officers with the Avery Sheriff’s Office received information about possible drug activity at the Pinnacle Inn on Beech Mountain. When officers arrived at the location, they were given consent to search the entire residence and found evidence of an active methamphetamine lab, leading to the arrest of Jacquelyn Boone.  The Tennessee woman was set a bond of $25,000.
The earlier investigation led to the February 20th arrest of Beverly Gwyn Harmon. Deputies of the Avery County Sheriff’s Office made traffic stop on US 19E, and upon questioning the driver of the vehicle about a suspended driver’s license, obtained consent to search the vehicle.  Officers located a glass methamphetamine pipe and one gram of methamphetamine, leading to the arrest of Beverly Gwyn Harmon, and after the arrest of the 45-year old woman, officers recovered an additional bag of marijuana and a pipe. Beverly Harmon was transported to the Avery County Jail and was set a $3000.00 bond.
