 Lenoir-Rhyne University's Denzel Dillingham has been named the South Atlantic Conference Men's Basketball Player Of The Week for the third time this season,
league officials announced this afternoon. Dillingham, a sophomore guard from Hickory, N.C., averaged 30.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.0 steals this past week for the Bears. Dillingham scored a game-high 31 points including 23 in the first half in L-R's 82-68 victory over Mars Hill in its home finale last Wednesday. Dillingham also led all scorers with 29 points to go along with six three-pointers in Lenoir-Rhyne's 85-83 road setback to Newberry in the regular season finale last Saturday in Newberry, S.C. Dillingham hit 59.5 percent (22-of-37) from the floor including 53.3 percent (eight-of-15) from behind the three-point line for the week as well. Dillingham currently leads the squad in scoring (18.1 ppg) and three-pointers made (64) while averaging 4.5 rebounds per outing this year. Lenoir-Rhyne (18-8, 11-7) will be the fifth seed in the 2013 Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Men's Basketball Tournament and will face fourth-seeded Carson-Newman (19-7, 12-6) in Jefferson City, Tenn., on Wednesday beginning at 7:00 p.m. The conference tournament semifinals and finals will take place this weekend at Timmons Arena in Greenville, S.C., on Saturday and Sunday, respectively, on the campus of Furman University.
