 Watauga High senior Darby Middlebrook has been named the Northwestern 3A/4A Conference Swimmer of the Year. Middlebrook was also named first-team all-NW3A/4A in the 200-free style and
she was also a member of WHS' 200-medley relay team. Middlebrook shared first-team honors with Anne Taylor, Doria Kosmala, and Carson Middlebrook, who made up that squad. Middlebrook was also named second team in the 500-free style, and she was also a member of WHS' 400-free style relay team (Carson Middlebrook, Taylor, and Juliana Silver) that earned second-team honors. Taylor earned three-first team honors, which also included the 50-free and the 100-free style events; Carson Middlebrook was named second team in the 100-breast stroke and the 200 IM; and WHS also earned second-team recognition in the 200-free style relay (Kosmala, Maddy Alain, Silver and Dakota Wilson). For the boys, WHS was named first team in the 400-free style relay (Forrest Brown, Noah Alain, Marcus Funston, and Brandon Michelsen ); Brown was named second team in the 200 IM; Funston was named second team in the 100 butterfly. Head coach David Gragg of the Pioneers shared co-Coach of the Year honors in the NW3A/4A for both the boys and the girls. |
