A stand-off with lawmen lasted late into the night, resolving early this morning at a Vilas area home. The calls began coming in to the Watauga Communications Center mid afternoon about a man threatening himself and others with at least three firearms at the Sweetwater Lane residence, and arriving deputies and emergency agencies staged a distance away while the effort to talk the man out of the house was launched.  As midnight came, another plan was put into action, and before 1 this morning, the man was taken into custody safely, taken to Watauga Medical Center for treatment while the roadblocks and staging areas were taken down.
