More 'Interesting' Weather Starting Tonight PDF Print

Nice forecast for today—but don’t get used to it.  While the bulk of the worst weather will pass to our west heading north, we’re expecting several rounds of weather from that system to pass through the High Country beginning tonight, with frozen precipitation of various varieties in the forecast. Freezing rain with sleet and snow are likely after midnight, with little or no snow and sleet accumulation is expected, but an ice accumulation described as a trace is in the overnight forecast—plenty to cause trouble for travel early Friday.  Then things change to rain and freezing rain in the morning, then rain likely in the afternoon with highs in the upper 30s. Then more rain Saturday morning before we start to clear out in the afternoon.
