He had to wait a couple of days, but West Caldwell High boy's basketball coach Danny Anderson finally picked up his 600th win. Anderson achieved his
milestone win Monday night when West Caldwell (18-5) defeated Draughn 68-34 Monday night in the opening round of the Catawba Valley 2A Athletic Conference Tournament. Kalice Steptoe led the Warriors with ten points. The Warriors will play Newton-Conover in the CVAC semifinals Thursday night at Catawba Valley Community College. The Red Devils (16-9), who defeated Bandys 74-57 in their first-round game on Monday, denied Anderson his 600th win last Friday night. The Red Devils prevailed 60-55 in double overtime and clinched the No.2 seed in the conference tournament. |
