In the second of three coaches' panel rankings, redshirt freshman Zack Strickland found himself as the lone member of Appalachian State University wrestling in the poll, released by the NCAA on Thursday.

Along with the coaches' poll, the first Rating Percentage Index (RPI) was release as three Mountaineers found the top-33 in three weight classes. Redshirt sophomore Dominic Parisi headlines the trio coming in at No. 22, the highest spot on the team.
Parisi joins three other Southern Conference wrestlers at 125 pounds, as he currently holds a 22-10 record for the season. Strickland, who was placed No. 30 in the nation in RPI, represents Appalachian as the only member in the coaches' poll, listed at No. 24. Strickland, who moved down two positions from last month, faced his only loss in a dual this season against Chattanooga and failed to compete against No. 11 Virginia. The Muncy, Pa. native boasts a 20-10 overall record with an impressive 10-1 mark in duals.
Earning one of the final two spots in the RPI at 174 pounds was redshirt freshman Colin Hedash. Hedash, who dropped his only Southern Conference bout of the season against UTC, is 15-10 on the year with an 8-4 record in duals. The Slatington, Pa. native will look to break a three-bout losing streak next Wednesday at VMI.
