Blowing Rock Fire was called to Chetola early this morning to a fire alarm in a maintenance area where they found a van on fire inside the building. The initial call was at 3:39 to a non-specific area of the North Main Street property, but at about 4, the second alarm came in
when fire was found at a Waterside Drive maintenance area, the van burning from the engine compartment. Fire units on the scene called in that the fire was controlled at 4:21 this morning, with backup units, Medics and Rescue released at that point. Blowing Rock Fire officials say that the building suffered some smoke and heat damage while the van was totaled in the fire. Blowing Rock Fire cleared at about 5:30.
