The Pfeiffer University men's lacrosse team outscored Lees-McRae College by a 13-0 margin in the second half en route to a 24-0 win in Conference Carolinas
play on Wednesday afternoon. Pfeiffer (1-0, 1-0 CC) outshot Lees-McRae (0-1, 0-1 CC) by a 64-15 margin, including a 40-6 advantage in the first half, while forcing 37 Bobcat turnovers. Lees-McRae won 17-of-28 face-offs in the contest, as the Falcons recorded 55 ground balls and converted 19-of-23 clearing attempts.
Ryan Harrison (Lake Mary, Fla.) paced the Bobcats with 17 saves between the pipes, as Nick Topichak (Weedsport, N.Y.) added a trio of stops. Dalton Lamb (Clemmons, N.C.) and Schuylor Dickerson (Crozet, Va.) chipped in four shots each, while Ryan Sparks (Hilton Head, S.C.) and Justin McLaughlin (Charlotte, N.C.) both scooped up a team-high four ground balls.
Robert Hope led the way for Pfeiffer with a game-high seven points, including a contest-best five assists, as Jordan Michele, Elliot Gilbert, Cole Sheen, Steven Tilmon, and Derek Thomas each posted a hat trick. Hope and James Shepherd both added two goals, while Spencer Allen chipped in a trio of assists. Hayden Kirk and Joe Capstaff combined for the shutout between the pipes for Pfeiffer, tallying five and one saves, respectively.
Lees-McRae returns to action on Saturday when the Bobcats travel to Mars Hill, N.C. to take on Mars Hill College in non-conference play at 2 p.m.
