A new Wal-Mart Supercenter in Wilkesboro! It’ll be at the site of an old Kmart on U.S. 421, across from the existing Wal-Mart. The plans were submitted to the town of Wilkesboro Tuesday.
Wal-Mart Stores Inc., spokeswoman Terra Stewart said that it is not certain when the store will open, but that it typically takes about a year once all the permits are issued. The site plan shows that the store will be 177,000 square feet. A grocery and garden center are planned.
