A mother and her three children managed to escape an early morning fire this morning east of Lenoir as their 100 year old home burned. The call came in at about 3:30 this morning to the house on Sheriff’s Road in the Oak Hill area. Much of the top floor was heavily damaged, well involved
in flames as Little River firemen arrived on the scene, calling for backup. The mother and three children got out safely but are being treated for smoke inhalation.
