![]() Elon’s Ali Ford has been named the Southern Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for games through February 4, the league office announced today. It’s her second Player of the Week nod of the season, and her second award in three weeks. Ford averaged 17 points per game last week for Elon, going 11of-20 from the field for a 55 percent shooting mark. Ford hit two threes and went 10-for-11 from the free throw line (90 percent). The senior set the new SoCon three-point record when she reached 316 career threes against Western Carolina on Feb. 4. The Morganton, N.C., native also finished with nine rebounds, six assists and five steals. Other top performers last week were Appalachian State’s Kelsey Sharkey, Davidson’s Sophia Aleksandravicius, Furman’s Brittany Hodges, Samford’s Hannah Dawson, Chattanooga’s Alex Black, Western Carolina’s Makensey Campbell, and Wofford’s Morgan Wrightson.
