Four Southern Conference men’s basketball teams learned their pairings for the 2013 RAMADA Worldwide BracketBuster event earlier today (February 4).   Davidson, the College of Charleston and Western Carolina were designated as home

teams, while The Citadel was slated to play on the road.   The Wildcats were chosen for a televised game and will play host to Montana (16-4, 12-0 Big Sky) on Saturday, February 23.

The matchup between the Wildcats and Grizzlies will tip off at 3:00 p.m. and will be televised by ESPNU. The College of Charleston (16-7, 8-3) will host Gardner-Webb (13-10, 5-4 Big South) on February 23.  The Cougars and Runnin’ Bulldogs have only met once on the hardwood, with the Cougars claiming an 81-63 win on December 9, 2000. The Citadel (6-15, 3-8 SoCon) will travel to face Presbyterian (5-18, 2-7 Big South).  The game will be played in Clinton, S.C., February 23.  The Bulldogs own a 46-22 lead in the all-time series, but the two teams have not met since an 80-74 Citadel win in 1983.

The Bulldogs have won the last 10 straight meetings in the series. Western Carolina (8-14, 5-5 SoCon) will play host to Coastal Carolina (10-10, 5-4 Big South).  The Chanticleers own a 4-2 advantage in the all-time series.  Coastal Carolina claimed a 77-72 victory over WCU in the opening game of the 2002-03 season. The Southern Conference is 19-14 all-time in BracketBuster games dating back to 2004.  League teams were 2-2 in the event last season.  Southern Conference schools are 11-4 in home games and 8-10 on the road.
