Appalachian State men's basketball senior Nathan Healy has been named as a CoSIDA/Capital One Academic all-District selection, CoSIDA announced on Thursday.  Healy, who carries a 3.99 grade-point average as a management major, is

now eligible to be named to the Academic All-America team, which will be voted on in the coming weeks.
A key contributor for the Mountaineers this season, Healy is among the Southern Conference leaders in several statistical categories. Through 20 games, he is averaging 14.3 points and 8.4 rebounds per game while leading the Apps in steals (37) and blocks (29).
He currently ranks 12th in the SoCon in scoring, fifth in rebounding, eight in field-goal percentage (48.9 percent), and third in both steals and blocks. A former walk-on, Healy has started all 20 games for App State this season and has posted four double-doubles this season. He scored a career-high 24 points at East Carolina earlier this season and matched that output in a win over UNCG on Jan. 14.
His 15-rebound performance against Milligan on Dec. 30 set another career-high mark and he has posted two, four-block efforts this year.
