Surprise…that inch or so we were told we might get overnight grew to four to six inches—in a hurry. The overnight shift of area law enforcement said that the blast hit around 3 this morning, with roads suddenly covered and conditions suddenly treacherous. School schedules,
which started out on a two-hour delay were quickly changed to closings—even ASU calling off the 8 and 9am classes, and the Watauga CCC&TI classes not starting until noon. By 7, most of the snow had blown by, but snow showers are predicted for some of the day, then another blast of whiteness for tomorrow afternoon, so stay tuned to High Country Radio or check out GoBlueRidge.net for the latest. |
