The High Country is bouncing back quickly from the heavy rains and flooding that hit the area mid afternoon yesterday, causing evacuations and shelters to open while emergency services dealt with swift water rescues and a major propane leak. This morning, mud and slush
were being swept and shoveled out of and around many homes, apartments and businesses, with still a number of roads nearly impassable. Winklers Creek Road was one of those, with the road still almost completely covered with water at several points, and residents of roads off of Winklers Creek reporting their roads impassable. Still, the relatively few power outages that occurred were dealt with and road repairs taken on by DOT and various town crews. |
