Saturday's rescheduled game between St. Stephens and Alexander Central in Taylorsville was postponed for the second time in as many days. The contest will now be played Wednesday night, January 30. No make up date has been

announced for Friday's canceled game between Hibriten and South Caldwell, and the Watauga-Fred T. Foard game postponed on Friday has been tenatively rescheduled for Monday, February 4. The WHS boys and girls basketball teams go back to work Tuesday night at Hickory. They will play a make-up game with Fred T. Foard (that was postponed on December 17) on Wednesday night in Newton, N.C. WHS will play the top two teams in the conference in a 48-hour span.
The Hickory boys lead the Northwestern 3A/4A Conference standings with a 5-1 league record. Fred T. Foard finds itself in second place, just one-half game behind the Red Tornadoes. Hickory claimed the top spot by beating the Tigers 93-90 in overtime last Tuesday. The Hickory girls begins the night in a two-way tie for first place with Alexander Central. Both teams have identical 5-1 records. Fred T. Foard is in third place, just one-half game off the pace.
