 The Watuaga High boys and girls indoor track teams sent a limited number of athletes to the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, N.C., on Saturday in the final meet of the regular season. The Pioneers produced six top-ten finishes among the
girls, and five among the boys. Madison Harman paced the WHS girls with a third-place finish in the 3,200-meter run. She finished the race in 11:38.94. The 4x800 relay team finished third in 10:55.60. Doria Kosmala finished seventh in the 1,000 (3:19.26), and Alison Seramur finished seventh in the pole vault (nine feet). Zach Styron and Justin Hall paced the WHS boys with a pair of fifth-place finishes. Styron finished fifth in the 55-meter hurdles in 9.02 seconds; Hall finished fifth in the long jump with an effort of 17-feet, 11-inches. Kenan Fox finished sixth in the shot put with a throw of 38-4.50. Josh Anderson (10:11.40) and Michael Holland (10:12.65) finished ninth and tenth, respectively in the 3,200. The Pioneers will compete in the state finals at the JDL Fast Track on Saturday, Febuary 9. |
