WHS Basketball, Wrestling Postponed PDF Print

Watauga High Athletics Director Tom Wright has announced that Friday night's scheduled game between the Pioneers and Hibriten in Lenior, N.C., has been postponed due to inclement weather and will be rescheduled at a later date. The

Pioneers have been victimized by bad weather for the second day in a row. Thursday's game at Fred T. Foard was called off because of impending weather. The WHS girls wrapped up their road trip with a 2-2 record, and they find themselves in fourth place in the Northwestern 3A/4A Conference with a 1-2 league record; the WHS boys, riding a three-game winning streak, were 3-1 on their recent road trip. WHS, 3-1 in league play, finds itself in third place, just 1 1/2 games out of first place in the NW3A/4A Conference standings behind Fred T. Foard and Hickory.
The Pioneers return home to play St. Stephens Tuesday night. Coverage begins at 6 p.m. on Oldies 100.7 FM.

The WHS wrestling match with Hibriten scheduled for Friday night at Lentz-Eggers Gym has been postponed as well, and will be rescheduled at a later date yet to be announced. The WHS wrestling team travels to St. Stephens for a NW3A/4A Conference match Tuesday night.
