After a memorable spring season that saw a first-place finish at the Winthrop Intercollegiate, Appalachian State University women’s golf released its 2013 spring schedule, head coach Heather

Brown announced on Monday. The Mountaineers open their slate on Feb. 25, as they travel to High Point, N.C. for the two-day High Point University Classic.
From there, the Apps hit the road to the Palmetto State for the Hilton Head Invitational at Berkeley Hall Country Club in Bluffon, S.C. on March 3. The University of Dayton hosts the two-day tournament.
Appalachian begins its spring break on March 11 and will head to Jacksonville, Fla. for the Benbow Invitational hosted by Butler University. The two-day event will be at the Jacksonville Beach Golf Club.
The Mountaineers then return to Bluffton for the Low Country Intercollegiate on March 24. App State seeks a third-straight champion at the tournament, as Yue Xu and Rumbidzai Masamvu finished third and eighth, respectively a year ago.
Brown’s squad takes on Western Carolina in the annual University Cup on March 28 at Mimosa Hill Country Club in Morganton, N.C. The Apps remain in the High Country for the Mimosa Hills Intercollegiate on April 1. Last season, Appalachian finished second behind co-host, WCU, in the two-day event.
The 2013 spring schedule closes on April 14 with a third and final trip to Hilton Head for the Southern Conference Championships on the North Course at the Moss Creek Country Club. Last year, the Apps finished in fifth place, as Chattanooga captured their third consecutive championship.
This season’s team returns four seniors that put together a solid 2012 fall season that saw a first place finish and one top-five finish.
