Christmas started a little early at Blowing Rock Police. Santa Cops Lance Dotson, Zach Warren and Chief Brown delivered coats and shoes to Blowing Rock School to be distributed. For several years Blowing Rock Police have partnered with staff at Blowing Rock Elementary School in a program known as “Santa Cop”. School Resource Officer Lance Dotson described Santa Cop as “a program designed to help less fortunate families in our community. The program helps provide coats and shoes to children at Christmas.”Funding for this year’s programs was provided by Blowing Rock Cares as well as other private donations. 50 families were helped this year. According to Chief Brown the number of families assisted has double since last year.
