Recent snow fall has bolstered area ski resorts. Ski Beech got 3 inches of new snow bringing the base to from 10 to 24 inches. Sugar Mountain reported 5 inches of new snow with a base of 8 to 30 inches

and Appalachian Ski Mountain saw just under 2 inches of new snow with a base of 16 to 36 inches. Our night time weather will be at or below freezing through New Years Eve with a chance of snow Wednesday and Saturday evenings. The Christmas through New Year’s period is an important one for our local ski industry and area businesses are cautiously optimistic about this year’s holiday ski traffic. Quite a few Christmas and New years events are planned and you can get more information at the websites of our High Country Ski concessions.
