 The L-R Men's and Women's Swimming Teams ended the 2012 Nova Southeastern Shark Invitational on a high note Monday at the NSU Aquatics Center. The Lenoir-Rhyne men's team finished in fifth
place with 392 points while the Bears' women's squad took eighth overall (167 points). Tampa (men) and Nova Southeastern (women) were the team champions with 1,210 and 1,059.5 points, respectively. Tampa edged out Florida Southern (1,208.5) for the men's title. L-R freshman Jonathan Hofrichter (Tampa, Fla.) earned an NCAA Division II "B" cut time and qualified for nationals in the men's 1,650-yard freestyle with a school-record 15:52.41 while finishing fourth overall in the event. Hofrichter also qualified for nationals in the men's 500-yard and 1,000-yard freestyle events over the weekend as well. The Lenoir-Rhyne Men's and Women's Swimming Teams next compete in a dual meet against Limestone on Saturday, January 5, in Gaffney, S.C. Lenoir-Rhyne's next home meet takes place on Saturday, January 12, against Queens at the Shuford Physical Education Center beginning at 2:00 p.m.
