Cougars, Indians, Tigers Remain Undefeated PDF Print

The Alexander Central High girls basketball team (9-0)  won its ninth straight game to start the season with a 69-40 win against North Lincoln Friday night in Taylorsville. Marie Ritchie led the way with 17 points and seven rebounds.


The Fred T. Foard boys (8-0) won their eighth consecutive game with a 57-37 win against Bunker Hill in Newton. Ketty Cameron and Brice Falgout led the way with nine points apiece. The Fred T. Foard girls won their sixth in a row after an 0-2 start as they knocked off Bunker Hill, 74-33. Kayla Whitworth led three players in double figures with 17 points.
Watauga travels to Fred T. Foard for its Northwestern 3A/4A Conference opener Tuesday night. Coverage begins at 6 p.m. on Oldies 100.7 FM. The St. Stephens boys remained undefeated with a 65-57 win against Newton-Conover.
